How to remove dye from hair? Discover the best techniques
Reinventing yourself is part of life - in addition to bringing immense joy to those who bet on change. Our look says a lot about who we are, after all, it is one of many ways to show us to the world. To know more, check out: remove hair dye
No wonder, dyeing your hair and, after a while, wanting to dye in another color is quite common in the life of those who love to vary their look, after all, transformations are always welcome!
But, after all, what happens to the yarn when we decide to change the color? Hair is like a fish scale: it has small cuticles that are invisible to the naked eye. When dye is applied, they open and allow the pigment to enter that space. Hence, the color change.
Depending on the shade you choose, if you have a previous coloring, applying another color on top will not always work. In this case, it will be necessary to remove the hair dye to throw a new pigment. It is a delicate process and, therefore, we will help you with some tips.
First of all, you need to analyze the current color and which one you want to change to. For example, if you are blonde and want to go black, just dye it. However, the opposite will not work, since dye does not lighten the strands.
But, it is possible to reverse the situation with some techniques capable of removing the current pigment for the change you want. Check out:
Paint remover
One of the most common methods is stripping, a technique that uses paint removers. It removes impurities and chemical residues, mainly from the dye, from the entire hair fiber.
The product has no bleach or ammonia, however, its main asset is hydroxymethanesulfinic acid, which has great de-pigmentation power. Therefore, it is essential to observe the health of the locks well before use to avoid damage.
This technique is used mainly by people with bluish black or dark red hair. That is, ideal if you want to soften threads that have very strong colors.
If you want, you can mix the product with shampoo or hot water and then apply. Remember that this treatment is aggressive to the hair, so the best option is to look for a professional.
Shampoo anti residue
If you are looking for a quick and easy alternative, the anti-residue is perfect! It is nothing more than a shampoo with concentrated pH, which forces the opening of the capillary cuticles, making the pigment of the paint come out more easily.
No professional is required to use this product. However, what is certain is not to use it every day so as not to dry the hair. Try to spend every week or two and, if possible, before a beautiful hydration, so the nutrients will better penetrate the fiber.
The anti-residue shampoo, although it can be adapted to your daily life, its effect is not so fast. The dye will come out gradually, but the risk of damaging the hair is less.
Soap Cap
A simple mixture to remove pigmentation using bleach, but it can be done at home - as long as you pay extra attention, after all, this procedure is as aggressive to the strands as stripping. In addition, it can remove the natural pigmentation under the paint. Therefore, it should not be done several times in a row. One is enough.
You will need shampoo, bleach and hydrogen peroxide (20 or 30 volumes). Mix everything and apply along the dyed threads. Be smart: if you have another type of chemistry - like straighteners - we do not recommend this procedure, since it has a high pH level, that is, it can dry out the hair a lot.
